Anglesey runner enjoys busy but successful Easter weekend

ANGLESEY athlete Osian Perrin, 19, had a busy but very successful weekend in two different track events.

On Saturday (April 16), he recorded a season’s best time of 14-17.91 in the Comeback 5,000 metres at Battersea Stadium in London.

The race was won by Olympic marathoner Ben Connor in 13-49.15.

On Monday (April 18), the Menai Track and Field athlete won the “A” race in the British Milers’ Club meeting in Stretford, Manchester.

His time for the 1,500m event was 3-46.72.

In January, Osian beat Tom Farrell’s UK indoor 3,000m record by less than a second at the BMC Grand Prix in Sheffield on January 9 with a time of 7:58.23, which also placed him fifth overall on the Welsh all-time list.

He then beat his own record at the BoXX United World Indoor Tour in Manchester on Jan 22 with a time of 7:54.41.
