Menai Bridge and District Civic Society Public Meeting on ‘Our Conservation Area – is it fit for purpose?’

9 February @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Public Meeting

To all in and around Menai Bridge who are interested in the town’s past and it’s future.

We write to tell you of an Open Meeting being arranged by the town’s Civic Society.
This is on Thursday, February 9th at 7pm in Capel Mawr School Room, New Street
The title is ‘Our Conservation Area – is it fit for purpose ?

The Conservation Area Appraisal was prepared and adopted by the County Council in 2012. It is still held & referred to in planning applications. There have been many changes in our built & landscape environment since that time. Two chapels have closed, a third has been demolished & the Victoria Hotel has new owners.

We hope that many of the public will join Society members in a general discussion. What we like, what we don’t like, and to gather thoughts & suggestions on how to improve and go forward.

We have a small panel of speakers who will help to unravel situations past and present. There will be time to debate and challenge ideas & points of view.

The meeting will be chaired by Dr. Gareth Huws of Holyhead, who will manage the discussion with impartiality and sensitivity.
The meeting will be bilingual, with translation headsets available. Notes will be taken & the main decisions/suggestions collected.

We do hope you will be interested to attend.
