Holyhead woman to pay more than £1,500 and banned from driving after numerous offences

A WOMAN from Holyhead was ordered to pay a large sum of money and given a six-month driving ban after committing three offences while on the road.

Claire Jones, aged 34, of Minffordd Road, Caergeiliog, was found guilty of driving without third party insurance, using a vehicle with a windscreen in a condition likely to cause danger of injury, and failing to comply with a red traffic light signal.

Each of the offences took place at Black Bridge, Holyhead on June 16, 2021.

She was found guilty of these offences at Wrexham Maelor Magistrates’ Court on February 4.

For driving without third party insurance, she was fined £660, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £132 and costs of £110, as well as being disqualified from holding a licence for six months.

For using a vehicle with a windscreen in a condition likely to cause danger of injury, she was fined £440.

For failing to comply with a red traffic light signal, she was fined £220.

This amounted to a total of £1,562, which she was given until March 4 to pay.
