New chief executive appointed at Isle of Anglesey County Council

DYLAN Williams was unanimously appointed as Isle of Anglesey County Council’s new chief executive at a meeting of the full council today (December 21).

He will succeed Annwen Morgan, who retires in March.

A native of Anglesey, he joined the council in 1996, and took up the role of deputy chief executive in October 2019.

Mr Williams said: “I’m proud to be appointed and look forward to taking up my new role in March, despite the ongoing challenges and uncertainties.

“In the meantime, I will continue to work alongside Annwen, colleagues and partners to maintain services and to protect the health and well-being of the island’s residents.”

Council leader, Councillor Llinos Medi, added: “I’d like to congratulate Dylan on his appointment.

“He has worked closely with Annwen during the pandemic, and together they have proved a hard-working and effective partnership.

“I would also like to thank Annwen for her service as outgoing chief executive and wish her well when she retires in the new year.”
